Myanmar Earthquake Relief 2025

Myanmar has experienced a rising number of conflicts in the last few decades. Amid this ongoing suffering, a powerful earthquake struck, shaking an already wounded country resulted I widespread devastation and a significant humanitarian crisis. On 28 March 2025 at about 1pm local time, a powerful earthquake struck central Myanmar.

The epicentre of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake was in Sagaing Region, severely affecting Mandalay, the country’s second-largest city and Nay Pyi Taw regions. The earthquake directly killed up to 5,352 people in Myanmar and 103 in Thailand, while one person died from shock in Vietnam. Up to 11,404 people were injured and hundreds more were reported missing. Most of the fatalities in Thailand occurred at a collapsed construction site in Bangkok whose shallow geology makes it more vulnerable to seismic waves from far away. Roads and bridges were destroyed, buildings collapsed, and countless lives were lost. Survivors faced the overwhelming grief of losing loved ones and homes.

With the slow and restricted flow of information, rescue efforts were delayed. People watched critical hours slip-away, feeling helpless and abandoned. Alongside our ministry partner, GOI connects with the local Christian communities to carry on the relief work in the affected areas since April, 2025. Your donation is helpful and appreciated.

The Gospel Operation Africa (GOA)

GOA Mission Academy officially launched on March 19, 2025, and in just two weeks, we’ve seen 20 little learners settle into a beautiful rhythm of songs, colors, stories, and joy. Despite rain, hiccups, and parental challenges, our team—under the mentorship of Miss Lanny has served with love, creativity, and servant hearts.

This video captures heartfelt testimonies from Mama Sarah, Mrs. Rebecca, Anita & Oscar (Teaching Assistants), and Carol (Social Worker). Their experiences reflect God’s faithfulness, the power of teamwork, and the joy of seeing transformation begin in Namuwongo’s little ones.

We thank God for our friends in Macau and Hong Kong who came alongside our children’s ministry to make this season possible. We believe the good Lord who began this work will be faithful to continue it and take it to greater heights.
